Composite Dental Veneers
Composite veneers involve the use of composite dental material on to the teeth to improve the appearance or aesthetics of those teeth. They are used to change the colour, shape, and size of the teeth to make them more attractive. Composite veneers are a popular alternative to traditional porcelain veneers.
To achieve excellent results, Composite dental veneers are technically and artistically very demanding.
They should only be done by a highly experienced Dentist that:
- Understands dental materials very well and is aware of the properties of different materials.
- Is a very artistic person. This is because composite veneers are directly done on the teeth by a bonding process (see below for details) by means of addition, removal, and sculpturing into a desirable final shape and size. They need not only to match the adjacent teeth and be symmetrical, but they must also match the overall shape of the arch and facial profile.
- Must have good knowledge of individual tooth morphology and their different styles

What is the process
- Attend for a consultation appointment with Dr Darfoor where you will be assessed. Your Smile expectations (shape, size and colour of teeth) will be analysed and a mock up simulated.
- Re-schedule for a single visit appointment for the permanent construction and delivery of Composite veneers to complete your smile enhancement process. This is a single pain-free appointment with no needles (no anaesthesia required)
Composite Veneers vs. Porcelain Veneers
Traditional porcelain veneers are thin pieces of tooth shaped porcelain which are custom made (for shape and color) and are then bonded onto the front of teeth. Composite veneers are fast becoming a popular alternative to the porcelain variety as they can usually be applied in a single visit.
Summary
The composite material used to design composite veneers is a resin based dental materials with fillers of very small particles. These small sized filler particles allow for a high polished finish which is resistant to staining giving a fantastic result for £650 per tooth.
On average, composite veneers are expected to last from between 6 – 10 years, when they will simply need to be resurfaced and re-polished (again without the need for any further drilling or needles)
